Water Use History
As described in detail in Irrigation Auditing and Management, the key to irrigation is to replenish the water the plant material requires as determined by evapotranspiration (Eto) and rainfall. Simply put: Eto (in inches) - Rainfall (in inches) = Amount of Water to Replace The chart below shows our recent history of rainfall and water replenishment requirements (the sum of the two numbers equals the Eto for each time period). As you can see from the yearly comparisons, we have had almost a third less rain this year as the previous year and a 10% increase in the yearly Eto. As a result, we have had to use almost twice as much water as last year to provide the plants with an equal amount of usabel water. If you ever have questions about our water use, send
